      Changdeokgung’s rear garden was constructed during the reign of King Taejong and served as a resting place for the royal family members. The garden had formerly been called ‘Bukwon’ and ‘Geumwon,’ but was renamed ‘Biwon’ after King Kojong came into power. The garden was kept as natural as possible and was touched by human hands only when absolutely necessary. Buyongjeong, Buyongji, Juhabru, Eosumun, Yeonghwadang, Bullomun, Aeryeonjeong, and Yeongyeongdang are some of the many pavilions and fountains that occupy the garden. The most beautiful time to see the garden is during the fall when the autumn foliage is at its peak and the leaves have just started to fall.

      The first ladies of ‘G20’ Countries visited this place during the ‘G20 Global Summit’ held in Seoul on November 2010.

      One of the largest shopping district, the Dongdaemun Market is the ideal place to look at contemporary fashion trend in Korea.

      Dongdaemun Market started as a traditional market in 1905 and experienced its first major transformation in 1970s as it began to develop as a center of the textile industry (both wholesale and retail), further contributing to the fast economic growth of Korea at that time. With the later construction of mega shopping buildings in the area, the market became reborn as the most famous fashion street in Korea.There are total around 11,00 shops to sell product for 24 hours a day.       [ Day 2 ] Visiting ‘Korea National Arboretum and Forest Museum’ and Private Garden nearby Seoul

      Morning: Visiting ‘Korea National Arboretum and Forest Museum’

The Forest Museum is the largest in Asia, covering 4628 sq.m² with a traditional Korean design, and the interior and exterior are both constructed of wood and stone. The arboretum facilities consist of 5 exhibition halls (Living Forest, Forest and Man, Forestry of the World, Forestry of Korea, Nature of Korea), a Herbarium, a Special Exhibition Room, and an Audio Visual Hall.

      Afternoon: Visiting Private Garden in a Korean traditional house, called ‘Soo-Yeon-San-Bang’

      With beautiful garden, this private Korean traditional house’s owner was Mr. Lee, Tae Jun who was a writer and poet in Korean history of contemporary art. And now it runs by 8th generation of his descendant. Tourist and visitors can have Korean traditional tea with some cookies here when they want to release their daily stress from routine life. It is located at Seongbuk-dong where is 40 minutes away from downtown  Seoul by car and opening hour is 13:00 p.m to 22:00 p.m. The literally meaning of ‘Soo-Yeon-San-Bang’ is ‘Mountain House with Jamila’.

      Suncheon Bay is considered to be a treasure house for the hosting of a variety of marine, plant, and bird species. With limited exposure to pollution and to further development as a salt wetland, this area provides ample opportunities for study and research. Areas for study include: Fresh marine produce, a variety of invertebrate sea-life, and an array of marine plants. An extended bed of reeds provides habitat to a variety of national birds such as Hooded Cranes, Seagulls, White Storks, Blackface Spoonbills and White Herons. Suncheon bay is known to be the area which rare birds inhabit and especially the unique habitat of a hooded crane.

      Afternoon] After explore Suncheon Bay and having lunch here, then move to NagAn Folk Village to see and enjoy 500 years ago life style of Koreans. And also to figure out the structure of Korean traditional houses and castle.

      NagAn Folk Village displays the original features of Korean life as it existed during the Joseon Dynasty. It offers preserved castle walls, a, Dongheon (local government office), inns, a market place, thatched cottages and General Im Kyeong-Eop’s monument, (Historical Site No.302) The magnificent 400-year old castle wall, built on a wide plain with 1 to 2 meter square stones, stands a firm 4 meter high, 3 to 4 meter wide and 1410 meter long. Currently 108 households still reside within the castle wall. It is recognized as a Traditional Folk Village of great worth. It is also a valuable resource for folk and historic studies.       After sightseeing the village, move to Gwangju Metropolitan City to stay over night. And early next morning visit old & traditional private garden, called ‘Soswaewon’ nearby Gwangju City.

The garden had formerly been called ‘Bukwon’ and ‘Geumwon,’ but was renamed ‘Biwon’ after King Kojong came into power. The garden was kept as natural as possible and was touched by human hands only when absolutely necessary. Buyongjeong, Buyongji, Juhabru, Eosumun, Yeonghwadang, Bullomun, Aeryeonjeong, and Yeongyeongdang are some of the many pavilions and fountains that occupy the garden. The most beautiful time to see the garden is during the fall when the autumn foliage is at its peak and the leaves have just started to fall.

The first ladies of ‘G20’ Countries visited this place during the ‘G20 Global Summit’ held in Seoul on November 2010.

Dongdaemun Market started as a traditional market in 1905 and experienced its first major transformation in 1970s as it began to develop as a center of the textile industry (both wholesale and retail), further contributing to the fast economic growth of Korea at that time. With the later construction of mega shopping buildings in the area, the market became reborn as the most famous fashion street in Korea.There are total around 11,00 shops to sell product for 24 hours a day. After having breakfast at the hotel, move to outdoor botanical garden, called ‘ Korea National Arboretum and Forest Museum. It is the first national facilities to preserve nature and for educational facility in Korea.

Korea National Arboretum covers an area of 1,157㏊ and contains 15 specialized forests, including Conifer Garden, the Garden of Ornamental Trees, and the Aroma and Touch Garden. The Forest Museum is the largest in Asia, covering 4628 sq.m² with a traditional Korean design, and the interior and exterior are both constructed of wood and stone. The arboretum facilities consist of 5 exhibition halls (Living Forest, Forest and Man, Forestry of the World, Forestry of Korea, Nature of Korea), a Herbarium, a Special Exhibition Room, and an Audio Visual Hall.

Afternoon: Visiting Private Garden in a Korean traditional house, called ‘Soo-Yeon-San-Bang’

With beautiful garden, this private Korean traditional house’s owner was Mr. Lee, Tae Jun who was a writer and poet in Korean history of contemporary art. And now it runs by 8th generation of his descendant. Tourist and visitors can have Korean traditional tea with some cookies here when they want to release their daily stress from routine life. It is located at Seongbuk-dong where is 40 minutes away from downtown  Seoul by car and opening hour is 13:00 p.m to 22:00 p.m. The literally meaning of ‘Soo-Yeon-San-Bang’ is ‘Mountain House with Jamila’.

Korea Train eXpress (KTX) is South Korea‘s high-speed rail system, operated by Korail.  Top speed for trains in regular service is currently 305 km/h (190 mph), though the infrastructure is designed for 350 km/h (217 mph). The initial rolling stock, designated KTX-I, was based on Alstom‘s TGV Réseau, and was partly built in Korea within the framework of a technology transfer.The domestically developed HSR-350x prototype, which achieved the South Korean rail speed record of 352.4 km/h (219.0 mph) in tests, resulted in a second type of high-speed trains now operated by Korail, the KTX-II, later renamed KTX-Sancheon. Suncheon Bay is considered to be a treasure house for the hosting of a variety of marine, plant, and bird species. With limited exposure to pollution and to further development as a salt wetland, this area provides ample opportunities for study and research. Areas for study include: Fresh marine produce, a variety of invertebrate sea-life, and an array of marine plants. An extended bed of reeds provides habitat to a variety of national birds such as Hooded Cranes, Seagulls, White Storks, Blackface Spoonbills and White Herons. Suncheon bay is known to be the area which rare birds inhabit and especially the unique habitat of a hooded crane.

Afternoon] After explore Suncheon Bay and having lunch here, then move to NagAn Folk Village to see and enjoy 500 years ago life style of Koreans. And also to figure out the structure of Korean traditional houses and castle.

NagAn Folk Village displays the original features of Korean life as it existed during the Joseon Dynasty. It offers preserved castle walls, a, Dongheon (local government office), inns, a market place, thatched cottages and General Im Kyeong-Eop’s monument, (Historical Site No.302) The magnificent 400-year old castle wall, built on a wide plain with 1 to 2 meter square stones, stands a firm 4 meter high, 3 to 4 meter wide and 1410 meter long. Currently 108 households still reside within the castle wall. It is recognized as a Traditional Folk Village of great worth. It is also a valuable resource for folk and historic studies.
